A one-year site licensing agreement gives you access 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days of the year to online, interactive content which can be initialized on an unlimited number of personal computers (PCs) at your school. The three main interactive modules from The Discipline Series include:

  • The What’s Up?: Student Incident Report. This module is designed to foster a better understanding from the student’s perspective of what happened during a misbehavior. Students create a computer-generated incident report, in either English or Spanish, by engaging in an interactive, thought-provoking experience. An effective communication tool, The Five Levels of Communication, focuses the student’s attention on the importance of respectful and responsible behavior as it relates to them. In addition to writing the report in Spanish, the module provides Spanish language support for various exercises and instructions.

  • Rule 1: Respect and Taking Charge: Responsibility. Based on the particular misbehavior, the student is auto-routed to Rule 1: Respect, or Taking Charge: Responsibility. These MindOH! modules take students through step-by-step self-discovery exercises and guide them to discover solutions and healthy character traits on their own.

  • Sixty-Six (66) Infraction-Based Activity Sheets. The MindOH! Discipline Series™ includes "Thinking it Through" and "Walking the Talk" worksheets that are content-specific to the infraction the student committed, such as bullying or cheating. Students interact with the modules and complete these self-reflection activities that allow them to think about their actions and consider new, positive ways to deal with problems.

The Life Skills Series

MindOH!'s Life Skills Series provides all students with an interactive experience with three goal-oriented modules:

  • It’s Up To You: The Power of Choice. Students are taught the Waterfall of Cause and Effect, a model that fosters both self-awareness and self-responsibility.

  • Aspire to Achieve: Making Goals Happen. The Four Steps to Success, a model that demonstrates how to build a habit based on a specific character trait, helps students define a goal. Students build a personalized “Plan of Action” that is delivered at the end of the module.

  • Defusing Disagreements: Listen to Understand. Students learn a conflict resolution technique called The Big Three Questions, a tool for defusing tension during a disagreement and gaining more personal power by listening actively and respectfully. A multimedia vignette illustrates two students in a disagreement. It compares and contrasts a typical and ineffective scenario with a positive scenario. The Big Three Questions turn a disagreement into mutual understanding.

  • 28 Module-Specific Activity Sheets. Thirteen “Watching My Thoughts” worksheets provide an opportunity to consider choices being made and the results those choices produce. Seven “Building a New Habit” worksheets help students with goal setting. Seven “Listen to Understand” worksheets help students develop better communication skills and enable them to build and maintain healthy relationships

The MindOH! School Administrative Database

School administrators have access to a powerful, password-protected database of their own students’ confidential responses to the MindOH! Discipline and Life Skills Series. Data on the number and frequency of thirty-three unique infractions, overall and time-selected module usage, hierarchical listing of teachers referring students for discipline, and each individual student’s history can all be accessed online in real time.

Character Education Lesson Plans

MindOH! client schools have access to 100 online character-based lesson plans. These plans provide activities and discussions to help students distinguish between what is learned and the "real world."

Educators can search based on a value, an issue or event, and by curriculum-based subjects. Lesson plans, such as "Defining Others", include activities and discussions about values, issues, and feelings in a way that provides a link between affective domain and cognitive thinking.

Teacher Resources Web Page

The Teacher Resources Web page gives clients schools online access to support materials such as the School Administrator's Handbook, steps for initializing a computer workstation, process for implementing MindOH! campus-wide and a variety of other support materials. In addition, it gives direct access to Activity Worksheets that print out at the end of each module, and the Character Education Lesson Plans.
