The physical scars on Emmy Award-winning journalist Monica Pierre's body
highlight a rich, well-traveled life. The top of her left eye bears a scar from
being pecked by a hen as a child in rural southwestern Louisiana. A nearly
two-inch one remains on her elbow from a fall she encountered during a radio
broadcast in Durban, South Africa.
